  • Develop and implement a data strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives by identifying key data sources, determining data collection methods, and outlining data management processes.
  • Lead data analysis efforts to extract meaningful insights from the available data by using statistical techniques, data mining, and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities that can drive business decisions.
  • Establish data governance frameworks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and data protection standards.
  • Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and company standards.
  • Responsible for data privacy, security, and ensuring the ethical use of data within the organization.
  • Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects.
  • Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to design and maintain a robust data infrastructure that supports data storage, retrieval, and analysis through working with database systems, data warehouses, and cloud-based technologies.
  • Create and present data-driven reports and visualizations to key stakeholders, including senior management, to aid in decision-making.
  • Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, external stakeholders etc.
  • Oversee a team of data professionals, including data analysts and data scientists and manage their workflow, set performance goals, and provide guidance and mentorship to ensure efficient and effective use of data resources.
  • Create and enforce policies for effective data management
  • Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data
  • Assist with reports and data extraction when needed
  • Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.)
  • Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience on a similar role at a fintech company
  • Proven experience as data manager
  • Strong expertise in data analysis, data management, and data governance is essential
  • Excellent understanding of data modeling, data integration, data administration and data quality management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.)
  • Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies
  • Ability to build and lead a high-performing data team, set strategic goals, manage resources effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization
