Job Description

The Cost Engineer is responsible for managing and controlling the Project cost in reference to the tender budget. He / She is responsible for the implementation of commercial functions and ensures that the Project is delivered based on Contract requirements.

BUDGET PREPARATION
Cost Split and Project Budget Allocation
Set-up SAP System Structure
Budget Rehash / Re-allocation

COMMERCIAL MONITORING AND CONTROL
Measurement of Work
Monitor and submit reports related to revenue, cash, cost, risks and opportunities, and commercial issues for proper action of Management
Practice cost control measures and ensure that resources requested and allocated for the Project are within the budget
Coordinate with the PMT including the Punchlist Crew all the closing - out requirements of the client.

CONTRACT MANAGEMENT
Variations and Claims on Contract
Interim Payment Application
Initiate contract closeout procedures in an appropriate amount of advance time prior to expected completion and final payment of the Project.
Ensure compliance to the terms and requirements of any Joint Venture or Consortium Agreement in place between the Company and others on the Project.
Bonds and Insurances

SUBCONTRACT MANAGEMENT
Closely coordinate with HO Procurement, Project Manager and Project Procurement Specialist in preparing and providing detailed and timely subcontract or major supply enquiries to meet Project requirements.
Participate in the Pre-order meetings with Vendors/Subcontractors to ensure that Project Commercial risks and opportunities are covered.
Manage subcontracts and major Vendor/Subcontract accounts including resolving variations and claims.
Payment of Subcontract Accounts
Monitor subcontractors and major vendor’s performance against contractual documents in coordination with Operations staff
Assist and provide inputs to the Project Management Team in assessing the Vendor or Subcontractor’s Performance for the project

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 2-4 years of construction experience specializing in quantity surveying, cost analysis, and contract evaluation.
  • Highly capable of analyzing project and business operations performance metrics.
  • With advanced knowledge in SAP, AutoCAD and MS Excel.
  • Preferably with experience in geothermal, hydropower and binary power plant works.
  • With good english communication skills, oral and verbal.
