Transportation:
Safely and punctually transport company personnel, including engineers, supervisors, and workers, to and from job sites, meetings, and other appointments.
Load, transport, and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring their secure and safe delivery.
Operate a variety of company vehicles, which may include pickup trucks, vans, flatbed trucks, and other specialized vehicles used in construction.
Follow designated routes and schedules, adapting to changes as needed and communicating any delays or issues.
Assist with the loading and unloading of materials and equipment as required.
Vehicle Maintenance and Safety:
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition (e.g., checking fluid levels, tires, lights, brakes).
Report any vehicle defects, maintenance needs, or accidents immediately to the supervisor or fleet manager.
Ensure vehicles are kept clean and tidy, both inside and out.
Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Practice defensive driving techniques to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of passengers and cargo.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance.
Logistics and Communication:
Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery records, and other required documentation.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and site personnel regarding delivery schedules, routes, and any potential issues.
Assist with other general duties as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall efficiency of operations.
Compliance:
Ensure all necessary permits and documentation for transporting materials are in order.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and environmental regulations.
