College Dean (Business School)
1. Responsible for the academic leadership of the faculty including all aspects of teaching, learning, research and knowledge transfer
2. Coordinates the assessment and development of academic programs within the
College
3. Prepares and revises, as necessary, academic programs
4. Promotes and serves as a model for teaching professional achievement and professional service
5. Oversees all personnel matters involving academic and non-academic employees including recruiting, appointment, re-appointment; termination and dismissal; faculty evaluation, tenure, promotion and merit and the preparation and approval(s) of faculty workload plans and long-range professional development plans
6. Maintains effective communication between students, faculty, Chairs and the other academic unit personnel
7. Serves as a liaison with relevant professional associations and national regulatory and accrediting agencies
8. Articulates University policies and procedures to members of the College
9. Prepare budgetary needs and oversees the allocation and expenditure of resources
10. Oversees the preparation of class schedules and other institutional reporting requirements
11. Ensures a high quality student experience
12. Engages in activities to increase graduate and undergraduate student enrolment
13. Cultivates strong alumni and external relationships to support and grow the College
14. Additional responsibilities assigned by the Vice President for Academic Affairs
