1. Receive payment by cash, credit cards, purchase orders or automatic debits .
2. Issues receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers.
3. Greet customers entering establishments. Answers customer's questions and assist them.
4. Establish or identify prices of goods and services and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers
or optical price scanners.
5. Process merchandise returns and exchanges.
6. Upsell to customers.
7. Stock shelves and mark prices on shelves and items .
8. Offer customers carry out service at the completion of transactions.
9. Assist with duties in other areas of the store, such bagging and carrying out customer items.
10. Supervise others and provide on the job training .
11. Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that
there is adequate change.
12. Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they have adequate cash available and that they are staffed .
13. Bag or wrap merchandise for check out.
14. Sort, count and wrap currency and coins.
15. Monitors and maintains the cleanliness of stock rooms.
16. Compute and records total of transactions.
17. Keep periodic balance sheets of amounts ad numbers of transacations.
18. Compile and maintain non-monetary reports and records.
19. Calculate total payments received and reconcile this with total sales.
20. Ensures the quality of the products in the stock room and shelves, periodic checking on the expiry date and physical state of the products for sale.
21. Perform other related duties that may be assigned by superiors .
