Under the guidance of the Country Director, the Economic & Environmental Sustainability Business Development Manager will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of economic empowerment and environmental sustainability initiatives that foster sustainable livelihoods and climate resilience. The role requires expertise in business development, market analysis, and buyer engagement, with a strong focus on:
● Fisheries, agriculture (banana, rice, cacao, coconut, etc.), public transportation cooperatives, eco-tourism, youth employment, and vocational training.
● Environmental sustainability projects and climate change adaptation strategies, including green businesses, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and carbon credit initiatives.
● Climate change adaptation for farming, including drought-resistant crops, soil conservation, and sustainable irrigation systems.
● Waste management solutions, such as plastic recycling and food waste management, to promote circular economy models.
1. Economic Empowerment & Climate-Resilient Business Development
● Develop and implement economic empowerment projects that integrate climate resilience and environmental sustainability.
● Create strategies to enhance cooperatives, vocational training programs, and youth employment initiatives.
● Develop green business models that align with climate change adaptation and sustainability goals.
2. Business Analysis & Market Development
● Conduct business revenue analysis, market trends assessment, and buyer sourcing to strengthen economic and environmental projects.
● Identify investment opportunities for sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and eco-friendly enterprises.
● Develop feasibility studies and business plans for climate-smart agriculture, carbon trading, and green businesses.
3. Sector-Specific Project Support
● Provide technical and business advisory support for fisheries, agriculture (banana, rice, cacao, coconut, etc.), public transportation cooperatives, and eco-tourism projects.
● Implement climate change adaptation strategies for farming, including drought-resistant crops, regenerative farming, and agroforestry practices.
● Develop and manage waste management programs, including plastic recycling, upcycling initiatives, and food waste reduction strategies.
● Strengthen community-based enterprises through sustainable resource management and circular economy approaches.
● Establish partnerships with environmental organizations, green investors, and renewable energy firms.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Capacity Building
● Engage with buyers, investors, and market players to secure partnerships for economic and environmental enterprises.
● Organize capacity-building programs for local entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and vocational training centers on sustainable business practices.
● Develop proposals and reports for funding opportunities and donor engagement in climate resilience, economic development, and environmental sustainability.
