Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
The client is a provider of comprehensive bookkeeping services for small businesses and non-profit organizations is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations. This role requires a high level of accuracy, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare financial statements including monthly financial reports, budget analysis, forecasts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Manage bookkeeping for the client using Xero, XPM, DEXT.
Ensure that all tax submissions meet ATO requirements and are filed on time.
Reconcile bank accounts, process transactions, and manage accounts payable/receivable.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and superannuation obligations are met.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
Perform day-to-day financial operations such as invoice management, expense tracking, and payments.
Assist with practice administration tasks as needed, including file management, client communication, and invoicing.
Provide support to the senior accounting team with general administrative duties.
Liaise with clients to ensure smooth communication and a high level of service.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Provide regular financial reports to management and clients.
Support the preparation of tax returns and liaise with external auditors as required.

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage both client work and internal bookkeeping tasks.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of experience in Australian accounting and bookkeeping.
Experience working in a Non-Profit Organization is a plus.
Preferably proficient in Xero, XPM, DEXT and workpapers, with a strong understanding of their functionality and application for both accounting and bookkeeping
Strong accounting principles knowledge particularly Australian tax laws and ATO compliance.
Amenable to work on a 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule.
