  • Attends to patients’ or relatives’ queries on patient billing, Philhealth (PHIC) and Health Management Organization (HMO) requirements and benefits. Refers the queries to department concerned, whenever necessary.
  • Conducts preliminary discussions and negotiations with patients and/or their families on the mode of payment for hospital bills; Provides notice on the need for deposit payments from the patient or his/her immediate relatives in cases of partial settlement.
  • Assists patients and/or their relatives in the filling out of forms related to health insurance, Philhealth coverage, etc. for bills to be charged against such accounts; Reviews materials to ensure their accurate completion.
  • Coordinates with doctors on professional fees and the guaranteed charges from HMO/corporate accounts of the patient tagged as “May-Go-Home” (MGH).
  • Attends to patient/relatives’ queries on patient billing, Philhealth and HMO requirements and benefits and/or refer the queries to department concerned.
  • Ensures patients’ Philhealth benefit claims are valid and in accordance with applicable PHIC circulars.
  • Responsible for accurately preparing patients’ billing, documenting, delivering on time and properly explaining to the patient or patient’s representative.
  • Monitors patient’s account, provides progress billing and requests hospital deposits, if necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any business-related course
  • Relevant experience in billing procedures & Philhealth claims processes and/or hospital software system is a plus
  • With training in Bizbox System and ICD 10 is an advantage but not required
  • Keen attention to details
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible in working schedules
