FREECAD Specialist - JOB SUMMARY:
The FreeCAD Specialist will lead the transition from AutoCAD to FreeCAD, developing a new workflow, resolving bugs, and conducting research and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include creating training materials and demonstrating the new workflow's effectiveness.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Workflow Optimization and Standardization: Develop and refine efficient FreeCAD workflows for furniture design, focusing on creating and improving templates for reuse. This includes establishing procedures and standards to streamline design processes.
  2. Parametric Design and Integrated BOM: Enhance skills in parametric design within FreeCAD, integrating Bill of Materials (BOM) and spreadsheet functionalities for seamless design-to-cost estimation.
  3. Software Integration: Implement and integrate various estimation and design software tools into the FreeCAD workflow.
  4. BIM System Utilization: Acquire proficiency in Building Information Management systems to enable multi-disciplinary collaboration within FreeCAD.
  5. Advanced Analysis and Simulation: Progress towards using FEM and CFD within FreeCAD for in-house analysis, aiming to minimize external vendor dependencies.
  6. Self-Reporting and Documentation: Regularly report progress and deliverables, documenting stakeholders' problem statements and project milestones.
  7. Design Library Development: Create and manage a comprehensive library of reusable designs, contributing to the continuous improvement of design templates.
  8. Technical Support and Transition Assistance: Provide technical support to teams transitioning to FreeCAD, addressing technical challenges and guiding them through the change.
  9. Training and Knowledge Transfer: Lead training sessions and knowledge transfer activities for technical design staff, students, educational partners, and OJT participants.
  10. Advocacy and Presentation: Promote the advantages of FreeCAD, documenting its tangible benefits for the company and educational institutions, emphasizing the use of free and open-source tools.
  11. Challenge Documentation: Record challenges and bugs encountered in FreeCAD, prioritizing issues for IT Director's review to facilitate improvements and community contribution.
  12. Other tasks that his superior, IT Manager, and IT Director may assign from time to time in support of the company goals.. 
HOURS OF WORK: Six days a week, with possible overtime.
WORKING CONDITION: Generally good, with occasional exposure to disagreeable elements.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED: All IT-related tools and equipment.
REPORTS TO: Cornersteel Manufacturing Plant.

Qualifications/Requirements

JOB SPECIFICATION:
EDUCATION: Degree in a Design or Engineering Course.
EXPERIENCE: Fresh graduate or more experienced.
