  • Train by setting an example for the Ordinary Sailor within the department
  • Become proficient with all safety and technical equipment used by the Deck Department
  • Take part in standby on the mooring deck, tender operation, and gangway duties as required
  • Familiar with and complies with the ship’s SMS, including the safety and environmental policy
  • Participate in fire fighting, first aid, personal survival, and promotes health , safety and anti-pollution programs
  • Promote the ship’s waste management and environmental programs

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Six months to one year experience as Able Body Seaman on a cruise or passenger vessel preferred
  • Could consider one to two years experience as Ordinary Seaman
  • Deck Watchkeeping certificate preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible in day-to-day activities
