WERCHER Coop is a subsidiary organization of TAGBAC MULTI PURPOSE COOPERATIVE or TAGBAC MPC (parent coop) established as a spin-off from the Service Personnel Contracting Unit of the parent cooperative. Initial member cooperators are majority of the parent cooperative members who ratified and approved the proposal during the coop’s 19th Annual General Assembly Meeting on March of 2011.
Target beneficiaries/members of this organization are the project employees of the parent cooperative and the self-employed. Focusing on service personnel contracting and project contracting services viability, membership and area of operation will be nationwide to cover a wide market potential.
WERCHER COOP believes that its existence is to ensure that the organization will always be relevant and will continue to offer job contracts and affordable financial services to its members. WERCHER COOP was born out of members’ needs. It grows as it services its members and stakeholders and endures as long as it is useful and wanted.
The organization is aimed at achieving the following key indicators that will keep WERCHER COOP abreast of the market environment while delivering excellent services to its members and stakeholders.
- Financial Viability – adherence to COOP–PESOS, the performance standard for cooperatives.
- Operational Efficiency – that is measured on the effectiveness of workflow or processes of service delivery or the speed client is served.
- Competitive Position – is the high degree of acceptance of service contracting in marketplace.
- Members Satisfaction – is measured on the number of people in the community benefitting from the services of the cooperative.
- Employee Satisfaction – people are the most important assets in the cooperative. Coop should offer a career path for its staff. Satisfied employees have high level of innovation, no labor disputes, are innovative, and demonstrate teamwork.
- Good Cooperative Governance – involved and competent Board of Directors, transparency of operation, ethical business practices and accountability to members and public.
WERCHER COOP’s members and staff understand the importance of cooperation and coordination. The availability of varied expertise within the same organization has proven beneficial in the successful execution of the projects. To maintain and improve the organization’s quality of service and to keep abreast of the new development, cooperative officers and members of the management staff will be constantly trained in development of their respective fields, and pursue opportunities for continuing education.
