Treatment and Rehabilitation Center -Bataan (TRCB) formerly known as Bataan Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (BDTRC) was constructed in the year 2008. Built under the DOH strict specification, this 50-100 bed rehabilitation facility includes a sprawling park as it’s frontage. It also has two (2) sizable dormitories, a big kitchen and dining area, a multipurpose room, a recreation room, a prayer room and several spacious offices for the employees. With the completion of the facility and the support of Congressman Garcia and Mayor Carlos Pizarro Jr., everything was set except for the most important element, the people who will be running the facility. The hiring of the employees also proved to be a dilemma. Very few would apply for the vacant positions because they knew that the travel, to and from the facility would take time and travel fare would also cost more. It would take people with much dedication and love for work to decide to work for the facility. After much anticipation on who will run the facility Congressman Abet stumbles upon one name. He felt this person would be the best for the position, as the BDTRC Director. She has the love for her work, the dedication and the willingness to sacrifice for others, thus on April 16, 2009 Congressman Garcia appointed Ms. Elizabeth P. Serrano, M.D. as the director of BDTRC and with her the 1stbatch of BDTRC employees. To better sustain the operation and other expenses of the facility, a Memorandum of Agreement was signed between the Department of Health and the Local Government Unit of Bataan through the Provincial Governor, Hon. Enrique Garcia, donating the whole facility including its personnel under the DOH by virtue of Republic Act 9165. As of to date, the TRCB is accredited as a 200 Bed Capacity with 107 plantilla positions and serving clients all over the Philippines.
