Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation (THPAL) was incorporated in the Philippines on August 22, 2008 to engage mainly in the manufacture and export nickel and cobalt mixed sulfide. THPAL is a sister company of Coral Bay Nickel Corporation (CBNC), the first company in the world to successfully employ the highly efficient High Pressure Acid Leaching (HPAL) technology to turn low-grade nickel ore, which was once considered waste, into a manufactured intermediate product of high commercial value.

THPAL's plant is designed to have an annual output of 30,000 MT of Nickel and 2,640 MT of Cobalt in the form of Ni-Co Mixed Sulfide. This Ni-Co Mixed Sulfide will be exported to the Niihama Nickel Refinery of Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. in Ehime Prefecture, Japan. Aside the from its main product Nickel - Cobalt Mixed Sulfide, THPAL also produces Chromite and Scandium.

THPAL is a majority-owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. of Japan. Other shareholders are Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Japan) and Nickel Asia Corporation (Philippines).
