Supervalue, Inc. is an affiliated company of Shoemart Inc., and the company name behind SM Supermarket. It started its operations in 1985 at Makati and the chain is currently made up of 66 retail supermarkets, 1 central warehouse and satellite warehouses.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
SM Supermarket is a chain of stores located inside SM Malls. It has expanded to 61 branches nationwide, becoming the most dominant player in the Food Retail Industry. It offers a pleasant and convenient shopping experience, boasting a wide range of fresh produce, meat, poultry and seafood. These are delivered daily and sourced directly from the growers, integrators and processors.
SM Supermarket hosts an extensive line of food and houseware products, with up to 30,000 stock keeping units at hand. Moreover, all stores provide standard “over the top” services such as ice cream scooping bars, snack kiosks, Chinese delicatessens, sweets shops, wines and liquor shops, photo shops, pharmacy, and bakeshop. Some shops may even offer furniture, family apparel, shoes, exercise machines, gift shops, books, juicy roasted chicken and home center. Furthermore, to make it a “One-Stop-Shop” experience, it has counters for bills payment and foreign remittance.
SM Supermarket is best known for giving its customers “value for money” with their everyday “YELLOW TAG” discount offerings; and its high quality and low-priced products under the “SM BONUS” house brand.
