SAGA MOTORS CORPORATION was originally founded as SAGA AGRO-TRADE CORPORATION on July 15, 1970 by the late ATTY. AUGUSTO GALLEPOSO SAGUIN. Its business was based in Dipolog City. SAGA pertains to the late founder’s combined surnames SAGUIN-GALLEPOSO. The main line of business was to buy and sell copra and other farm products. It later ventured into appliance distribution as well as agricultural equipment like tractors and generators. In the early 80’s, it shifted its main product line to motorcycle distribution and later on expanded to selling passenger type vehicles, surplus vehicles, and used cars. Even with new product lines, the company retained the name SAGA AGRO-TRADE CORPORATION because of its strong brand recognition. After decades of strong presence as a motorcycle distributor within the provinces of Zamboanga Peninsula and its neighbouring towns and cities, SAGA Agro-Trade Corporation formally launched its new name SAGA MOTORS CORPORATION on December 29, 2014. With its new name and new identity, SAGA remains to be steadfast in providing passionate, responsive, and reliable products and services to its existing and potential customers and clients. And as the company continues to move towards its new direction, it focused its product line in motorcycle distribution, developing strong partnership with the leading motorcycle companies in the country namely, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Yamaha.
The Birth of SAGA FINANCE CORPORATION
With SAGA Motors Corporation’s stability and strong presence in the motorcycle industry, SAGA Motors Corporation stretched another milestone through the birth of SAGA FINANCE CORPORATION.
The Securities and Exchange Commission approved its incorporation on December 12, 2016. It is a separate entity conceived with the primary purpose of financing the motorcycle purchases of its customers and clients. SAGA Finance Corporation was formally launched on August 1, 2017. Having strong and competent key officers, it is with strong conviction that the dedicated workforce of SAGA Finance Corporation will be unified in pushing complimentary business to its existing motorcycle retailing.
