“HISTORY AND IT’S PEOPLE”

 Linaw Beach Resort & Pearl Restaurant is a private beach situated in a secluded tropical lush garden of Danao Beach, Panglao Bohol. It’s often called or referred to as “Calm” or “Peaceful” Resort as the name was gotten after a Local Visayan term “Linaw” meaning a very quiet place like the calm of the ocean seas.

 Every history written, having its own value and sentiments so as also to Linaw - to the people, places and time being. Dating back to its origin, this Resort started as a vacation house home to a lovely Belgian Couple Named: Freddy de Schuyter and Karin Wesemael – who currently own the Resort. They noticed that the place is so very quiet, so peaceful and relaxing. Thus, thinking “wow! So quiet in here, very peaceful” – “mamingaw na lugar (Visayan term)” somehow, came the idea of naming the place. Rosalina Guioguio, a Local Boholana who took care of the said vacation house for many years, suggested the term “LINAW” to make it shorter then. Anecdotal story records that the term Linaw was gotten by its name from Rosalina. Taken the word “LINA” added by letter “W” to its end.

 The place was so lovely with its powdery sand and a beautiful sunset view. This vacation house was built 2001 and completed 2 years after with 6 rooms only having 2 caretakers who happens one of them is the present manager of Linaw Beach Resort and the other still one of the respectable housekeeping employee.

 Recommendations from other resorts, friends, and visitors passed by the place and they love it. Many thinking that they wanted to stay on the said place. Few years later, during the heat of summer time of 2008, it was officially opened as a Resort with a small Restaurant and a swimming pool with only 8 Employees.

 It’s service becoming outstanding and overwhelming.
