Oro Savings and Sharing Multi-Purpose Cooperative (OSSMPC) is an open-type cooperative that was organized by Atty. Mordino R. Cua together with some women members of a parish-based prayer group. It ventured out in micro-finance operations with P 35K as common fund from the savings association in 1995. In 1998, the cooperative was formally registered with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) under CGY-2608 and it decided to offer its savings and credit operations to the public. It became affiliated with MASS-SPECC Cooperative Development Center in 2000 and with the Philippine Federation of Credit Cooperatives in 2002. In 2003 it became a partner of the Credit Union Empowerment and Strengthening (CUES) and it was during this period that OSSMPC shifted from share-leveraging to capacity-based lending. At present, it has five branches; with its head office based in Capistrano-Echem Sts. OSSMPC strives to teach its members to save and to help one another mutually in economic undertakings. It operates with the vision of becoming a strong, viable, and trusted cooperative in Northern Mindanao which is responsive to the needs of its members and with the mission to satisfy the financial needs of its members.
