The Metro Ace Packaging Corporation

Metro Ace Packaging Corporation started operating and rendering services in Davao City, including the neighboring cities and provinces, in the year 1990 under the company name, Metro Ace Plastic Industries. It manufactures plastic containers for food, chemicals, cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies, various items for agricultural industries and houseware items. It is also into extrusion of items like plastic PP strap, corner posts and even caters to custom molded items.
Starting out with 2 units of blow moldings machines and one of injection machine, today, MAIC has 12 units of injection machines, 12 units of blow molding machines, 6 units of extrusion/corner post machines, 5 units of PP twine machines, 4 units of inflation machines, 2 units of PP strap lines plus and a European plastic reprocessing line.

MAIC Milestone
1990 – MAIC was established and started operations with 3 lines of Extrusion Blow Molding machines. Making bottles ranging in size from 30ml to 1 gallon containers.
1992 – Injection molding of caps and closures as well as some houseware products were added. Company also accepted custom design and molding of any plastics packaging items as required by its clientele.
1995 – Capacity of Injection and Blow molding lines were increased with new lines from Taiwan and Japan. 20-liter Jerrycans/Carbouys were also added to its product line.
1997 – Expanding its clientele to include the banana industry, MAIC developed its own plastic corner post machines with its in-house engineers.
1998 – In line with the company’s green policy and impact on the environment, the company installed an in-house reprocessing system.
2006 – Environment Friendly Timber (EFT) was developed in cooperation with a Dutch Consultant. These are made from post consumer as well as plastic wastes from agricultural farms. MAIC also increased its capacity for the production of plastic corner post with a total of 5 lines. A combined capacity of 200 tons per month.
2008 – MAIC acquired a brand new extrusion blow molding machine to serve the increasing requirements of the coconut/palm oil as well as food industry. MAIC also diversified and added a new line for the production of Polypropylene Monofilament twines for the Banana Industry.
2010 – With increase in the hectarage of Banana farms, MAIC added its 3rd line for PP Monofilament with a total monthly capacity of 110 tons.
2011 – Added 2 lines for PP Monofilament to further increase capacity. 1 PP Strap machine was also commissioned to replace an old line and to enhance strap quality. Blown Film operation started to address requirement of Banana Industries for film products. 3 Inflation machines and automatic cutting sealing units were installed. Annex 2 building was also constructed to provide bigger space for Extrusion section.
2012 – New extrusion blow molding machine was commissioned for DPV requirement of NAI using new molds. Also, 1 line for PP strap and 1 unit of Automatic perforating machine were added at Extrusion and Blown Film sections respectively.
2013 – New extrusion blow molding machine was added to replace old line and to address increasing demand on carbouy products.
2014 – Added PET Injection & Blowing machines to meet growing demands in PET bottle & jar requirements.
2015 – Another unit of PET injection machine and 1 unit of Extrusion Blow Molding machine for carbouy production were added to increase the production capacity in both lines. Also, 1 line for Plastic Straw / Fibrillated twine was commissioned to support banana industries and other agricultural farms.
2016 – 2 units of Extrusion Blow Molding Machines were purchased to meet increasing requirements of the customers in HDPE plastic containers. In the same year, Annex 3 building was erected which became the production area for Blownfilm products.
2017 – 1 unit of Pet Injection Machine, two Manual PET jar / bottle Blowers, and 1 Extrusion Blow Molding machine were added. Also, Clean room for food contact liners was constructed inside the Annex 3 Blownfilm building to cater the requirements for desiccated coconut and other food products requiring strict compliance to food safety standards.
2018 – A bigger Extrusion Blow Molding Machine was commissioned to produce a new product line, particularly 160-liter capacity plastic water tanks, to supply the needs of the communities in remote areas needing bigger water container. Construction of a new Annex 4 building was also finished adding more space for machines, raw materials, and finished goods.
