Corporate History
Founded in 1967 as Dixie Corporation by the Zuellig Group, the Company was primarily engaged in the production of Dixie paper cups. The company was renamed Food Industries, Inc. in 1972 after becoming independently owned and combined with other former businesses of the Zuellig Group, namely, its grocery products business and its Vendo vending machine business. The grocery product business consisted of licensed brands like Cream® Cornstarch, DutchTM Cleanser and Purex Bleach.
In 1975, FII® ventured into the marketing and distribution of swimming pool and water purification products with the establishment of its Aquasystem® division.
In 1978, FII® acquired additional grocery brands into it's portfolio, Nagaraya® Cracker Nuts and Sweet-Mini® Pretzels. By this time, FII® decided to emphasize on grocery products and disengaged from the Dixie and VendoTM businesses.
In 1984, FII® was acquired by its parent Unsu Corporation.
As a result of corporate changes within its licensor-principal, FII® stewardship of Dutch Cleanser and Purex Bleach products came to an end in 2005. FII® was the Philippine Licensee of these brands since 1972. In 2007, FII® introduces 4X®, its own brand of home cleaning products.
