The Bayer Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative started its operations on September 10, 1996. It was initially a financial self-help project intended to benefit regular employees of Bayer Philippines.
The idea of forming a cooperative was initiated by Bayer management primarily because of the following reasons:
- The need for cash advances from employees due to hospitalization, tuition fees, maternity, funeral, calamity and other emergencies of immediate family members have become too persistent large for Bayer to handle;
- The amount of cash advances and carrying costs have affected the cash position of the company; and,
- The Booking and monitoring of cash advances of so many employees had become an administrative burden.
To get the concept moving, Bayer management by way of seed loan, extended the initial capital which was repaid in year's time.
This project envisions to address the above perennial problem and at the same time promote savings consciousness among its members and strengthening the unity and the traditional Filipino Bayanihan spirit in the pursuit of a common objective centering principally in their financial well-being through the pooling of resources. The cooperative started with 222 members. It mainly focused on the credit and lending business.

n 1996, the board of BECC decided to venture into other businesses. They then applied to make the cooperative a multi-purpose one. Thus, the name of the cooperative was changed to Bayer Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BEMPC). It initially had the tracking business and selling of over the counter Bayer products. One of the greatest achievement of this cooperative is being named as one of the Best cooperatives in Laguna, Institutional Category.
Due to envolving business environment, BEMPC in December 15, 2017 was renamed as Canlubang Industrial Estate Multipurpose Cooperative (CIEMC), to date the following are services that the cooperative offer:
- Credit and Lending
- Labor Services
- E-loading
- Money Transfer/Remittance
- Bills Payment
- Lot/Far,/Real Estate Leasing and/or rental
