Our Story
Play House Preschool was founded on December 8, 1992 by Ma. Elena Zaldarriaga, or “Tita Allen” to all. The school was first located in Paradise Village in Banilad, Cebu City. Children always came excited to learn; they were happy with Tita Allen’s caring approach to learning.
Parents loved the Play House culture of care, learning and fun that they began requesting for higher levels. Eventually, the curriculum was expanded to include Grade School and High School education.
B.R.I.G.H.T. Academy was born. B.R.I.G.H.T. stands for Balanced, Respectful, Intelligent, God-loving, Happy and Talented children. In 1995, Play House transferred to Ma. Luisa Road to address the increasing number of students. At present, Play House Preschool and B.R.I.G.H.T. Academy are situated at a sprawling campus along Gov. Cuenco Avenue in Banilad and has added Senior High School to its curriculum offerings. A happy, caring school with hundreds of students coming from 25 different countries, Play House Preschool and B.R.I.G.H.T. Academy are committed to the pursuit of Balanced and Positive Education.
B.R.I.G.H.T Academy is a private, non-sectarian, co-educational school offering Grade School, Junior High School and Senior High School levels of education to multi-national students. The School is recognized by the Philippine Department of Education in Region VII. The Recognition of the Elementary Course (Grades 1- 6) was on 12 March, 2007 and the Secondary Course (Grades 7-12) was recognized on 27 December, 2007. The Permit to Operate the Senior High School Program was also granted on October 29, 2015.
The school is authorized by the Department of Immigration to accept foreign students.
