The objective of our People Advisory Services is to deliver a comprehensive approach to an organization’s primary resource which is its People or human resources. Employment Tax and regulatory compliance is of primary concern and the job will focus on providing comprehensive services that addresses relevant employment-related matters. YOU will be key in providing underlying support for these services and will play a critical role in gathering and analyzing data, conducting thorough research and preparing relevant workpapers and memoranda essential to delivering our commitments to our clients and other stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities
As an Associate within the Mobility Tax, you will:
- Assist in creating and updating engagement workspaces in accordance with prescribed methodologies and ensure proper organization of files and documentation required for each engagement as required by the Firm’s quality and risk management policies.
- Gather, collate, and analyze compensation data from clients and EY Global Coordinating Offices (GCOs) to calculate taxes on income and fringe benefits as well as determine required regulatory contributions to the SSS, Philhealth, and Pag-ibig.
- Prepare workpapers to support calculations performed and deliverables for client engagements such as tax packages and remittance forms.
- Serve as an alternative point of contact for clients and the Global Coordinating Office (GCO), collaborating with them to share data, address issues, and manage deadlines.
- Process employee registrations and de-registration for SSS, Philhealth, and Pag-ibig.
- Assist senior team members in providing basic research work on employment tax and regulatory matters regarding compensation structuring, planning, international assignments and mobility strategies and drafting initial advisory memos in relation to various advisory engagements
Skills and attributes for success
- Basic knowledge of accounting and tax, in particular, the types of compensation, benefits and rewards available to employees and the taxes related thereto
- Demonstrate keen interest in learning tax and regulatory matters related to employment matters
- Display willingness and patience to invest time in oneself to develop professionally through training, hands-on experience and collaboration with various teams and regulators.
- Ability to express oneself (both written and oral) in a pleasant manner that is comprehensible and makes sense
- Ability to work independently and with teams of diverse individuals
- Has good command of Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and the like.
